Important location note: To access the farm you must travel on a couple kilometers of dirt road and cross a river. We recommend high clearance vehicles but smaller cars are fine if you drive slowly.

The Aasvogelkrans location is about 5 km from the picturesque village of Nieu Bethesda. It can be reached by turning off the N9, 25 km north of Graaff-Reinet. The turn is signposted “Owl House Route” and “Nieu Bethesda.” It takes about 45 minutes to reach the farm from Graaff-Reinet.

The road is paved most of the way to Nieu Bethesda. However, the turn-off to Aasvogelkrans is a dirt road. You must cross the Gats River to reach the farmhouse and cottages. A high clearance vehicle is ideal. Please reach out if you have any concerns about your vehicle.

We have an automatic gate at the entrance to the farm.  To open, please ring to call the main farmhouse or dial +27 66 374 9432. Any manual gates must be closed securely behind you.

Once across the river, you will see a sign at the fork in the road to the main farmhouse and the cottages, which are a couple hundred meters down the road at the left fork.
