On Aasvogelkrans is a secret ravine where owls roost and San people left their mark. The San, an indigenous hunter-gatherer group, lived in the Karoo long ago. They depicted their hunting exploits using rock paintings in caves and overhanging rock. Ochre, charcoal, or ash were used for pigment. You will need a guide.
